What First-Time Renters Often Miss (and How to Avoid It)

Renting a vehicle for the first time? Welcome to the club! Whether you’re picking up an SUV for a family road trip or a pickup truck for a weekend project, a little rental etiquette goes a long way. At Bay Area Auto & Truck Rental, we love making your rental experience smooth and stress-free. So, before you hit the road, here are some rental etiquette tips to help you rent like a pro.

Return It on Time & with the Right Fuel Level

We get it—things happen. But sticking to your return time helps keep our vehicles on schedule for the next customer. Don’t forget to check your fuel agreement, too. Most rentals require you to return the vehicle with a full tank unless you’ve pre-paid for fuel.

Keep It Clean—Inside and Out

You don’t need to detail the SUV, but a little courtesy goes a long way. Toss out trash, wipe down major messes, and try to return the vehicle in the same condition you received it. It's just good manners—and it keeps cleaning fees at bay.

Know Who’s Driving

Only authorized drivers should be behind the wheel. If you’re planning to share driving duties with a spouse or friend, be sure to add them to the rental agreement. This keeps everyone protected and avoids insurance issues if something unexpected happens.

Communicate If Plans Change

Running late? Need to extend your rental? Just give us a call. We’re more than happy to work with you, especially when we’re kept in the loop. A quick heads-up helps us help you (and the next renter waiting on that SUV or pickup truck).

We Make Your Renting Experience Easy
